PINAKI  MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Nov 19: Jharkhand Governor and Chancellor of State Universities, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, on Wednesday conferred degrees upon graduating students at the third convocation of Jamshedpur Women’s University.

Extending warm congratulations to all graduates, he said that the education of daughters forms the foundation of any society’s true progress.

The Governor lauded the remarkable journey of the university—from an intermediate college to a fully-fledged women’s university—calling it an inspiring story of women’s education, empowerment and social transformation.

He expressed satisfaction that the institution’s alumnae are excelling in diverse fields, including education, science, administration, entrepreneurship, arts and sports.

Referring to the Government of India’s women-centric initiatives such as ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, skill development programs and entrepreneurship schemes, the Governor said their positive impact is visible nationwide.

He added that daughters from Jharkhand, too, are rapidly rising to global recognition.

Calling convocation a beginning rather than an end, the Governor advised students to anchor their future in discipline, lifelong learning and confidence.

He noted with pride that in recent convocation ceremonies across Jharkhand, the number of girl students securing medals has consistently surpassed that of boys—an encouraging sign of the state’s emerging women power.

He reaffirmed that ensuring quality education, regular classes, timely examinations and prompt results across all state universities remains his top priority.

Expressing confidence in the graduates, he said Jharkhand’s talented daughters will play a crucial role in realising the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’.

In Chandil, Governor Inaugurates Vivekananda Centre’s New ‘Prakalpa Bhavan’

Earlier in the day, Governor Gangwar inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Prakalpa Bhavan’ of the Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari Service and Training Centre at Chandil in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district.

He also participated in the centre’s ‘Sadhana Diwas’ observance, held in honour of its founder, Eknath Ranade.

The Governor described the new building as much more than a physical structure—calling it a vibrant institution founded on service, dedication and national values that will inspire a new wave of social transformation in the Jharkhand–Bihar region.

Invoking the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, he said the core mission of the centre is spirituality-based nation-building and character formation of youth.

He expressed hope that the Chandil project will emerge as a vital hub for nurturing leadership, cultural awareness and community service.

Highlighting Jharkhand’s rich tribal culture, love for nature and tradition of social harmony, the Governor said these priceless heritages must be linked with modern education and skill development.

He praised the centre’s continued work in rural and tribal areas and reiterated that “Nara Seva is Narayana Seva” remains one of the highest ideals of Indian culture.

He also referred to the national governance mantra—“Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas”—and said that the nation-building ethos reflected in it aligns closely with the vision of Swami Vivekananda.

Calling upon youth to remain rooted in culture while embracing modern knowledge, technology and skills, the Governor expressed confidence that the ‘Prakalpa Bhavan’ will, in the coming years, evolve into a centre of character-building, cultural renaissance and national consciousness.
