Dhanbad, Jan 8: Railway authorities have diverted the routes of eight mail and express trains linked to Ranchi, including the New Delhi–Ranchi Rajdhani Express, due to unavoidable technical reasons on different dates in January and February.
The information was shared through a notification issued on Thursday by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr DCM) Md Iqbal of the Dhanbad Rail Division, East Central Railway (ECR).
Rajdhani Express diverted
According to the notification, the 20408 New Delhi–Ranchi Rajdhani Express will run via Tori–Barkakana–Mesra–Tatisilwai–Ranchi on January 14, 21, 28 and February 4.

The return service, 20407 Ranchi–New Delhi Rajdhani Express, will operate via Ranchi–Tatisilwai–Mesra–Barkakana–Tori on January 8, 15, 22, 29 and February 5.
Another pair of Rajdhani services—12454 New Delhi–Ranchi Rajdhani and 12453 Ranchi–New Delhi Rajdhani—will also run on diverted routes on select dates in January and February.
Mail and express trains also affected
Several other Ranchi-linked trains will also operate on diverted routes, including:
- 18631 Ranchi–Chopan Express
- 18632 Chopan–Ranchi Express
- 18635 Ranchi–Sasaram Express
- 18636 Sasaram–Ranchi Express
These trains will run via the Tori–Barkakana–Mesra–Tatisilwai section on multiple dates between January 8 and February 8, as per the detailed schedule issued by the railways.
Passengers advised to check schedules
Railway officials have advised passengers to check the updated train schedules and routes before commencing their journey, as diversions may affect travel time and stoppages.
