Daltonganj, Dec. 24: The Garhwa district police gave one more blow to the JJMP when it recovered one Insaas rifle, four rifles of 315 bore, six rounds of 5.56 mm calibre, one magazine of Insaas rifle and four magazines of 315 bore.
With this, the JJMP outfit has lost two precious weapons, one AK 47 and the other Insaas rifle, in a short period.
2 JJM ultras arrested
The JJMP was also weakened when the Garhwa district police arrested two of the outfit, Sheopujan Munda and Manoj Ram.
It was on the winter night of December 17 that the JJMP had exchanged fire with the combined contingent of three police stations, Chiniya, Ramkanda and Ranka, and there, the JJMP had injured the officer in charge of the Ranka police station, Shankar Prasad Kushwaha.
Garhwa SP Deepak Pandey had vowed to reduce the JJMP to its nadir. His district police are not letting him down. In just a week, December 17 to 24, the JJMP outfit has jerks and jolts, men and machine-wise.
Speaking to the Jharkhand Story correspondent today, Deepak Pandey said, “The arrested Manoj Ram took us to the location where were hidden Insaas rifle and four other rifles besides ammunition.”
Weapons and ammunition
Pandey said, “The weapons and ammunition were hidden in the stone cave-like location.”
Deepak Pandey said, “Manoj Ram had the landmark fresh in his memory. There was a Bunyan tree there. In jungles, one forgets to find one’s hidden things unless one keeps in mind any landmark. The ultras are very particular about the landmark in the jungles.”
The weapons and the ammunition were hidden in the Doomarya Nala. Manoj Ram has been booked under the 17 CLA Act, besides sections of the Arms Act.
JJMP fights for survival
For the JJMP, it’s now a fight for its survival in the Garhwa district as space and time both have become hostile to it. So, the JJMP may try to sneak into the neighbouring Palamu district.
