Union Budget: Jharkhand to get ₹79,860 cr, allocation rises 16 times in 11 yrs, says BJP

Ranchi, February 2: Jharkhand will receive a total of ₹79,860 crore from the Union Budget 2025, National General Secretary and MP Arun Singh announced on Monday. Addressing a press conference in Ranchi, he said the allocation includes ₹51,236 crore as tax devolution, ₹17,057 crore as grants-in-aid, and ₹11,567 crore as special assistance grants.

He said the amount allocated to Jharkhand has increased 16 times in the last 11 years, reflecting the Modi government’s commitment to the state’s development.

Union Budget to Strengthen Jharkhand’s Development

Arun Singh said the Union Budget will play a key role in strengthening Jharkhand’s economy, agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare sectors. He said the central government is working towards the goal of a developed Jharkhand along with a developed India.

Central Welfare Schemes Benefiting Jharkhand

Highlighting the impact of central schemes in the state, Arun Singh said:

  • 18.8 lakh farmers in Jharkhand are benefiting from the PM Kisan Samman Yojana
  • 1.35 crore people have received Ayushman Bharat health cards
  • 2.64 crore people are getting 5 kg free food grains per month under the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana
  • 34.4 lakh households have received piped water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission
  • 25.6 lakh beneficiaries are enrolled under the Atal Pension Yojana
  • 1.6 crore people are registered under the PM Suraksha Bima Yojana

He said these schemes have significantly improved the quality of life of people across rural and urban Jharkhand.

Support for Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Economy

Arun Singh said agriculture in Jharkhand will be strengthened through technology using the Bharat Expansion AI tool. The National Fibre Scheme will promote the silk industry, while a capital subsidy scheme will support fish farming in Amrit Sarovars and reservoirs. Steps will also be taken to increase the number of veterinarians, benefiting farmers and livestock owners.

Employment, Youth, and Women-Centric Initiatives

He said the budget will open new opportunities for Jharkhand’s youth. An allocation of ₹10,000 crore to the MSME sector will promote entrepreneurship and employment. Training programs will be launched in the tourism sector, and employment opportunities in education will increase.

He added that women’s hostels will be established in every district, along with credit-linked livelihood and entrepreneurship schemes on the lines of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana, strengthening women’s economic participation in Jharkhand.

Allegations Against State Government

Arun Singh alleged that despite increased central assistance, the state’s coalition government is misusing funds through corruption and economic mismanagement. He said that apart from central government schemes, the state government has failed to implement any major development project in the last six years.

BJP Meeting and Press Conference in Ranchi

Earlier, a BJP organizational meeting was held at the state office in Ranchi, chaired by State President and MP Aditya Sahu, to discuss the Union Budget and organizational matters.

The meeting was attended by National Vice President Rekha Verma, former Chief Ministers Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, and Madhu Koda, along with senior party leaders, state office-bearers, former MLAs, district presidents, and district in-charges.

State General Secretary and MP Pradeep Verma and State Media In-charge Shivpujan Pathak were present at the press conference.
