PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Feb 18: Demonstrating a strong commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, Class IX students of Loyola School, Telco visited Palasbani village as part of an outreach initiative.

The visit brought together around 60–70 village children and Loyola students for a day filled with learning, cultural exchange and meaningful interaction.

Students Experience Rural Life

Led by Fr. Alex, the programme began with a walk through the village, giving students an opportunity to observe and understand rural life.

The hand-painted mud houses decorated with traditional tribal art, peaceful ponds and green surroundings reflected the village’s cultural richness and natural beauty.

Art, Music and Cultural Exchange

The interaction soon turned into a lively exchange of creativity and talent. Loyola students organised drawing and colouring sessions, encouraging active participation from the village children.

The atmosphere was filled with laughter, curiosity and shared joy.

The Loyola School band added energy to the event with musical performances, receiving smiles and applause from the young audience. In return, village children performed a vibrant tribal dance, proudly showcasing their cultural heritage.

The exchange helped build understanding and strengthen bonds between the two groups.

Distribution of Essential Supplies

As part of the initiative, essential supplies were distributed among the village children, reinforcing the spirit of care and solidarity.

The experience proved enriching for the visiting students, many of whom expressed interest in participating in similar outreach activities in the future.

The school thanked Fr. Alex for his guidance and expressed gratitude to Principal Charanjeet Ohson and Administrator Gerald D’Souza for their encouragement and support in organising the programme.

Through such initiatives, Loyola School, Telco continues to promote empathy, cultural awareness and a sense of service among its students, while building meaningful connections with the community.
