Jamshedpur, March 7: Jharkhand may witness light rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds over the next few days as Norwester activity develops across eastern India, according to meteorological inputs.
A partly cloudy sky with chances of light rain or thunderstorms is forecast at isolated places in south-eastern Jharkhand on March 7.
Weather forecast for coming days
Similar weather conditions are likely to prevail in the eastern districts of Jharkhand on March 8.

On March 9, the north-eastern and adjoining central regions of the state may experience light rain or thunderstorms.
The partly cloudy weather pattern is expected to continue on March 10, with isolated light rain possible in some parts of the state.
Why the weather is changing
Meteorologists say the changing weather pattern in Jharkhand is being influenced by multiple atmospheric systems across eastern and central India.
An upper-air cyclonic circulation, which earlier lay over north Odisha, has now shifted to northwest Odisha and adjoining areas at around 0.9 km above mean sea level.
A trough extending from this circulation runs up to northwest Uttar Pradesh across north Chhattisgarh and northeast Madhya Pradesh at the same level.
Another upper-air cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and adjoining areas, located at around 3.1 km above mean sea level, is also influencing the regional weather.
The interaction of these weather systems is expected to trigger Norwester activity, bringing brief spells of rain, gusty winds and occasional thunderstorms in parts of Jharkhand over the coming days.
