Dhanbad, April 8: TEXMiN IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, a Technology Translation Research Park (TTRP) under the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, announced major industry collaborations and startup funding at IInvenTiv 2026, strengthening India’s mining innovation ecosystem.

Hosted at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IInvenTiv 2026—the Ministry of Education’s flagship R&D event—brought together academic institutions, startups, investors, and industry leaders to accelerate research commercialisation, technology transfer, and deep-tech innovation.

Strategic MoUs to Strengthen Mining Technology

TEXMiN signed key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading industry players to build advanced research labs, Centres of Excellence, and mining technology infrastructure.

Key partnerships include:

  • NTPC Mining Limited – mining technology and industry–academia collaboration
  • Agilent Technologies India – lab for critical minerals and rare earth analytics
  • Anton Paar India – advanced material characterisation technologies
  • Tecknotrove Systems – mining simulation and training lab

These collaborations aim to drive innovation in mining, critical minerals, and advanced instrumentation while enabling industry-ready solutions.

Startup Funding to Drive Deep-Tech Innovation

TEXMiN also announced incubation and seed funding for startups working in mining technology, digital solutions, and simulation-based systems.

Supported startups:

Spry Field Solutions, NAVAXON Technologies, MaxelS Tekventures, RESCMM & Tech Solutions, and Velastra.

Strong Push for Industry–Academia Collaboration

The announcements were made during the inaugural ceremony attended by Directors of leading IITs, venture capitalists, policymakers, and industry leaders, highlighting the growing importance of industry–academia partnerships in India’s mining sector.

Prof. Sukumar Mishra, Director, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, said the initiatives reflect rising confidence in deep-tech startups and indigenous technology development. Prof. Dheeraj Kumar added that TEXMiN is building a robust ecosystem for sustainable mining and critical mineral development.

National Mission for Sustainable Mining

Backed by DST under the NM-ICPS mission, TEXMiN focuses on developing solutions using AI, IoT, blockchain, robotics, drones, and satellite technologies. The initiative supports India’s vision of technological self-reliance, Mining 4.0, and sustainable resource development.

With new MoUs and startup funding, TEXMiN continues to emerge as a key hub for mining innovation, startup incubation, and advanced research in critical minerals.
