Ranchi, April 15: The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved a wide range of decisions aimed at improving public services, boosting infrastructure, and providing relief to citizens across sectors.
Relief for Employees and Pensioners
- Dearness Allowance (DA) increased for state government employees under 5th and 6th pay scales (effective July 1, 2025)
- Dearness Relief (DR) hiked for pensioners and family pensioners
Healthcare and Medical Education Boost
- Four district hospitals (Dhanbad, Khunti, Giridih, Jamtara) to be upgraded into medical colleges
- Foreign Medical Graduates to get internship opportunities with stipends in state hospitals
- Financial aid approved for treatment of a critically ill child under the state health scheme
Education, Skills and Youth Development
- State-level Science & Technology Quiz and Robotics Festival approved for students
- STEM-related events to be promoted in technical institutions
- Restructuring of universities and colleges, including Nilamber Pitamber University and J.C. Bose University
Infrastructure and Urban Development
- ₹162 crore approved for widening of Namkum–Doranda road in Ranchi
- ₹153 crore project cleared for interstate bus terminal and commercial complex in Jamshedpur
- Multiple road, bridge and bypass projects approved across districts
- Barharwa urban water supply project cleared under AMRUT 2.0
Faster Justice and Social Protection
- Three special courts to be set up in Ranchi, Dhanbad and Daltonganj under SC/ST Act
- Pension benefits approved for retired workers by counting daily wage service
- Amendments to strengthen disability rights rules
Governance and Digital Push
- Jharkhand Digital Infrastructure Corporation approved to expand connectivity
- State Institution for Transformation of Jharkhand (SITJ) to improve governance
- Finance Commission tenure extended till 2027
Housing and Urban Reforms
- Rules approved to regularise unauthorised buildings
- Building bylaws simplified to reduce compliance burden
Economy and Regulation
- Interest rates fixed for loans to PSUs, cooperatives and urban bodies
- Amendments approved to curb illegal mining and regulate minerals
- Motor Vehicles Taxation Amendment Bill cleared
