Jharkhand Cabinet clears flyovers, pension benefits, AI MoU with Google

Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited Sentevita Hospital on HB Road in Ranchi on Tuesday and met State Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, who is undergoing treatment. He enquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery.

Ranchi, April 28: The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, on Tuesday approved a series of key proposals covering infrastructure, employee benefits, education, and technology.

Major infrastructure boost for Ranchi
The Cabinet cleared two major flyover projects in Ranchi:

  • Argora–Dibdih elevated corridor (3.804 km) with extensions towards Kathal More and Ashok Nagar at a cost of Rs 469.62 crore
  • Karamtoli to Science City flyover (3.216 km) at a cost of Rs 351.14 crore

Both projects include land acquisition, rehabilitation, utility shifting, and other components.

Pension relief for employees

In line with various court orders, the Cabinet approved pensionary benefits for employees with less than 10 years of regular service by adding their daily-wage service period.

Similar benefits were also approved in specific cases, including that of Prabhakar Sarangi and 24 others, as well as in compliance with Lok Adalat and Supreme Court orders.

Regularisation and service benefits

Approval was given for the regularisation of services of Rambali Das, Upendra Sharma and Maini Devi, following High Court directions.

The Cabinet also approved pension fixation for retired IFoS officer Pradeep Kumar in the pay scale of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HoFF).

Education and institutional reforms

The Cabinet approved the formation of the State School Standard Authority and granted post-facto approval to the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules, 2026.

It also cleared a scholarship scheme for up to 50 students annually from various categories to pursue Master’s programmes abroad.

Innovation and skill development

Approval was granted for setting up the GEC Palamu Innovation and Incubation Centre Foundation, along with four Centres of Excellence, with an estimated outlay of Rs 22.97 crore over five years.

The state will also sign an MoU with Google LLC to promote AI innovation and adoption.

Rural connectivity and other decisions

The Cabinet approved the construction of roads and bridges under the Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana and Mukhyamantri Gram Setu Yojana.

It also cleared a proposal to rename Shri Banshidhar Nagar sub-division in Garhwa district as Shri Banshidhar Nagar Untari, along with amendments to an earlier departmental notification.
