Jamshedpur, May 16: XLRI – Xavier School of Management has announced admissions for the second batch of its flagship executive programme, Public Policy & Sustainable Leadership (PPSL), following the successful launch of its inaugural cohort.

Launched in collaboration with the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India, the one-year hybrid programme has emerged as an interdisciplinary platform bringing together policymakers, administrators, academicians, sustainability practitioners and private sector professionals under a common academic framework.
Diverse Cohort of Government and Industry Professionals
One of the key highlights of the PPSL programme is its diverse class composition, featuring both government-sponsored and self-sponsored candidates.

The inaugural batch included officers from the Government of India, including IAS, IPS, IFoS and State Civil Service officers, along with professionals from organisations such as UN Women, PSI India, Council on Energy, Environment & Water (CEEW), PCI India and IBM Research Labs. Academicians from public administration institutes were also part of the programme.
Hybrid Format Designed for Working Professionals
The 180-hour programme has been designed for working professionals and follows a hybrid format, combining two short campus residencies with interactive online sessions conducted on Sundays.
The multidisciplinary curriculum includes subjects such as:
- Public Policy
- Public Finance
- Governance and Public Systems
- Sustainability and Leadership
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Business and Non-Market Strategies
- Emerging Developmental Challenges
XLRI on Programme Vision
Speaking on the programme, Prof. Kalyan Bhaskar, Associate Professor at XLRI and Programme Director of PPSL, said:
“The PPSL programme reflects XLRI’s larger vision of creating responsible leadership at the intersection of public policy, governance, civil society and public value creation. The diversity of the participants enriches classroom discussions, peer learning and enables meaningful dialogue between administration, academia, development sector and industry.”
Admissions Open Till August 18
XLRI said the second batch is expected to further strengthen collaborative learning among officers, practitioners and professionals working in governance, public systems and developmental institutions.
The last date to apply for the programme is August 18, 2026, while the course will commence on September 18, 2026, with the inaugural campus session at XLRI Jamshedpur.
