Daltonganj, May 27: Amid intense heatwave conditions in Palamu district, a heat relief camp was organised at the Daltonganj railway station under the aegis of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA).

Railway judicial magistrate Pragyesh Nigam and his team distributed bottled water and oral rehydration solution (ORS) pouches among incoming and outgoing passengers at the main entrance-cum-exit of Platform No. 1 of the station under the Dhanbad division of East Central Railway.
Initiative under DLSA directive
Judicial magistrate Nigam said the relief camp was organised following directions from the chairman of the DLSA-cum-principal district and sessions judge in view of the intense heatwave sweeping Daltonganj.

“It is a heat relief initiative for passengers affected by the ongoing severe weather conditions,” Nigam said.
Water bottles and ORS distributed
Sources said around 200 one-litre bottled water packets and a large number of ORS pouches were distributed during the drive. Men, women and children of all age groups received the relief materials.
Daltonganj and adjoining areas have been witnessing severe heatwave conditions, with temperatures fluctuating between 43 and 45 degrees Celsius.
