Khunti, September 16: A major awareness initiative to promote Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) was launched at the Civil Court Campus, Khunti, with the flagging off of an LED Awareness Vehicle under the nationwide campaign “Mediation for the Nation 3.0.”
Rasikesh Kumar, Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Khunti, formally flagged off the LED Awareness Vehicle provided by the Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority (JHALSA), Ranchi, to the District Legal Services Authority, Khunti.
The LED-mounted vehicle will take the message of “Mediation for the Nation 3.0” to different parts of Khunti district. The campaign is an initiative of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India through the Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) and is being implemented under the aegis of JHALSA, Ranchi.
The District Legal Services Authority, Khunti, is executing the outreach programme under the guidance of the Learned Chairman, DLSA, Khunti.
The flag-off ceremony was attended by the President, Bar Association, Khunti, along with members of the Bar, Panel Lawyers, empanelled Mediators, the Secretary, DLSA, Khunti, and members of the Court staff.
Those present joined the Chairman in extending their best wishes for the success of the district-wide awareness campaign.
The LED vehicle will travel across Khunti district and use audio-visual content to explain the benefits of mediation, including speedy resolution, a cost-free process, confidentiality, preservation of relationships, permanence of settlement and easier access to justice.
It will also encourage litigants with pending cases to make use of the mediation facility available through the Mediation Centre, DLSA, Khunti.
Mediation drive to cover cases from August to December
Under the campaign, courts are identifying and referring cases eligible for mediation from August 1, 2026, to September 30, 2026.
Mediation efforts will subsequently be undertaken from October 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, through offline, online and hybrid modes throughout the week to facilitate the participation of parties.
The campaign covers a wide range of disputes, including matrimonial disputes, matters under the Domestic Violence Act and Section 498A IPC / Section 85 BNS, motor vehicle accident claims, cheque-bounce cases, compoundable criminal cases, consumer disputes, debt recovery and SARFAESI matters, execution proceedings, arbitration matters, commercial disputes, service matters, partition, eviction, land acquisition, labour law matters and other suitable civil disputes.
Public urged to use mediation facility
The Chairman, DLSA, Khunti, appealed to members of the public to make maximum use of the campaign for the amicable settlement of pending disputes.
