Jharkhand weather: Dense fog alert for next two days

Jamshedpur, Dec 30: Dense fog may occur at isolated places over southern, western and adjoining Central parts of the state, during the next two days, said a Met bulletin issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

No significant synoptic situation prevails over Jharkhand.

A fresh western disturbance was seen as a trough in mid-tropospheric levels roughly along Long. 52°E to the north of Lat. 30°N at 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.

Dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours, while moderate to dense fog was also recorded at isolated places over the south and central parts of the state.

The highest maximum temperature of 27.2°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 10.8 °C was recorded at Daltonganj.

Notably, Ranchi Met Centre had earlier issued a forecast of light rain over north-western parts of Jharkhand on New Year’s Day, due to the impact of the approaching western disturbance.

According to weathermen, the minimum temperature would witness a rising trend and would be above 10 degrees Celsius in most parts of Jharkhand during the next two days.
