THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Jamshedpur, Oct 1: Young performers of Loyola School, Telco, showcased their confidence, creativity and expressive skills at a Choral Dramatisation Competition organised for the school’s Pre-Primary Division.
The competition provided students of Nursery and LKG with an engaging platform to develop articulation, expression, teamwork and stage confidence, while learning to perform together before an audience.
The programme was attended by Vice-Superior Fr Oscar Horo, Principal Charanjeet Ohson, Administrator and Treasurer Fr Gerald Ravi D’Souza, Vice-Principal (Senior Section) Reshma Rodrigues, Vice-Principal (Junior Section) Zeenat Maria Sundi and Moderator Colleen Xavier.
The programme was conceived and coordinated by Colleen Xavier to introduce the youngest students to the basics of oration and eloquence through an enjoyable and age-appropriate format.
The competition combined recitation with dramatic presentation, requiring the children to demonstrate clarity of speech, gestures, expression and synchronisation.
The LKG section featured three presentations. LKG C presented My Silly Toothbrush, LKG B performed Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, while LKG A presented Baa Baa Black Sheep.
The young participants impressed the audience with their enthusiasm, preparation and growing confidence on stage.

Nursery students present poems
The Nursery section featured Traffic Lights by Nursery C, Two Little Dicky Birds by Nursery B and I’m a Little Teapot by Nursery A.
Through the familiar poems, the children demonstrated their ability to follow rhythm, use facial expressions and gestures, and participate in coordinated group performances.
Beyond the competitive aspect, the event provided an opportunity for the children to develop communication skills, self-confidence, attentiveness and teamwork at an early age.
The preparation and effort put in by the students and their teachers were reflected in the composure and enthusiasm with which the young performers took the stage.
LKG A, Nursery B emerge champions
The competition concluded with the announcement of the winners, with LKG A emerging as the LKG Champion and Nursery B being declared the Nursery Champion.
The Pre-Primary Division expressed gratitude to the school management for its encouragement and support. Appreciation was also extended to the teachers, support staff and helpers whose efforts contributed to the smooth conduct of the programme.
The competition added a meaningful dimension to the school calendar by providing young learners with a lively platform to nurture communication, creative expression and confidence through performance.
