Jamshedpur, October 16: Moderate morning fog followed by mainly clear skies and dry weather is likely to prevail across Jharkhand over the next few days, according to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
With the southwest monsoon withdrawing, weather conditions are gradually transitioning towards the post-monsoon season. No significant rainfall is expected across the state during the forecast period.
Morning Fog Expected Until October 20
According to the IMD forecast, moderate fog is likely during the morning hours on October 17, followed by mainly clear skies.
Similar conditions are expected on October 18 and 19, with morning fog giving way to predominantly clear skies as the day progresses. Dry weather is also likely to continue on October 20.
The overall weather pattern suggests that the state will experience stable conditions, with no significant spell of rain expected over the coming days.
Fog May Reduce Morning Visibility
In Jamshedpur and adjoining areas of the Kolhan region, moderate morning fog may temporarily reduce visibility, particularly on highways and roads passing through low-lying areas.
Motorists have been advised to exercise caution during the early morning hours. Visibility is expected to improve as the fog dissipates, giving way to clearer conditions later in the day.
Atmospheric Trough Unlikely to Bring Rain to Jharkhand
The IMD has also reported a trough extending from a cyclonic circulation over south coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining areas towards the northwest Bay of Bengal. The system extends up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
The trough had earlier extended from the south Tamil Nadu coast towards the northwest Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast. Its current configuration, however, is not expected to trigger any significant rainfall over Jharkhand during the forecast period.
Dry Weather to Continue Across the State
The continuation of dry weather is expected to provide favourable conditions for outdoor activities and festive-season engagements across Jharkhand.
For the next few days, the dominant weather pattern is likely to remain unchanged, with moderate morning fog followed by clearer skies and predominantly dry conditions.
