Dhanbad, Jan 1: In a major crackdown on coal crime, the District Task Force seized over 200 tonnes of coal stored illegally in the Tetulmari area under the Tetulmari police station, around 14 km from the district headquarters.
This was the second major crackdown on illegal coal orders within a week. Earlier in the night of December 24-25, the District Task Force seized 54 coal-loaded trucks on the inter-state GT road under the Topchachi police station.
Under the direction of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Barun Ranjan, the Task Force team under SDM Uday Rajak raided an illegal dumping site surrounded by a rising wall in Tetulmari.

In this regard, Mines Inspector Binod Pramanik has lodged an FIR at the Tetulmari police station. Coal was handed over to Katras Area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).
SDM Uday Rakaj told the media that an illegal coal dumping site is being investigated. “If the land is found to be Raiyati ( legal landholder), then action would be initiated against him,” he said.
