Jamshedpur, Jan 31:  A cyclonic circulation over neighbouring Bihar caused due to the impact of passing Western Disturbance in northern India is expected to trigger light rain in isolated pockets of the state today, said weathermen.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted light rain in isolated areas of southern Jharkhand today while tomorrow, (Thursday) light to moderate rain is expected in northeastern, southern and adjoining central Jharkhand.

The sun played hide and seek with clouds at several places today.

The cyclonic circulation was hovering over western Bihar and the neighbourhood at 0.9 km above the mean sea level.

Jet stream winds of the order up to 140 knots at 12.6 km above mean sea level was prevailing over northern India.

A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Northwest India from February 3, Saturday.

Dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours.

Shallow fog was observed at isolated places over southern parts of the state.

Capital Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 11.6 degrees Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded a minimum temperature of 15.5 degrees Celsius.

Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 10.8 degrees Celsius while Bokaro Steel City recorded a minimum temperature of 11.6 degrees Celsius.

According to weathermen, the minimum temperature will witness a rising trend for the next 24 to 48 hours after which the minimum reading will again witness a drop.
