New Delhi, Feb 12: Traffic limitations have been implemented, and security measures have been heightened at the Singhu, Ghazipur, and Tikri borders in Delhi ahead of the farmers’ planned ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest on February 13th.
To stop vehicles transporting demonstrators from entering the city, the borders have been reinforced with iron nails and concrete blocks.
Commuters experienced difficulties on Monday morning as a result of the measures, which impacted traffic movement in Delhi’s border regions.
Numerous farmer groups, predominantly from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Punjab, have organised a protest march on February 13 to advocate for legislation ensuring Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops, a key demand they made while agreeing to end their protests in 2021.

5,000 security personnel deployed
An advisory released here states that commercial vehicle traffic has been restricted at the Singhu border since Monday. It stated that starting on Tuesday, all vehicle categories are subject to the restrictions.
Over 5,000 security personnel have been deployed by the police, alongside the operation of cranes and earthmoving equipment transporting sizable containers to block the roads.
Barricading, Section 144
Numerous security barricades have been set up at the borders to prevent farmers from entering the capital. Officials have indicated that nails have been strategically placed on the roads to puncture the tires of any vehicles used by protesting farmers attempting to enter the city.
In the meantime, to safeguard law and order, prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) have been put into effect in Delhi’s northeast district.
