Daltonganj, February 14: Transportation costs for a student or family matter more a fiscal load than the school fees.

A popular school, St Mariam Plus 2 in Daltonganj, has taken a novel and liberal measure for parents and families.

Money and time-saving measure

This homely measure is quite a money- and time-saving measure for the students and their parents. It reduces the family’s tension in paying the transportation costs. It’s all because of the ‘school near home’ facility introduced by the Chairman of St Mariam school, Avinash Dev.

This school has relocated its students. The relocation is of the students of the villages/sub-urban areas of the Chainpur block studying in nursery class to 5 in Daltonganj-based St Mariam school.

New franchise school

A new franchise school named St Mariam has been set up at a busy location in Chainpur. Here will be brought students of nursery class to 5 classes from the same school based in Daltonganj.

 200 students to be shifted

Avinash Dev said this bulk shifting of the students of nursery class to 5 class living numbering 200 under the Chainpur block to this new franchise school will save their parents transportation cost and time too where the quality of teaching and discipline will be the same what it used to be in the parent St Mariam school in Daltonganj.

The franchisee Anand Kumar said the new school will save the students of this Chainpur block from getting stranded in jams for half an hour to sometimes one hour on the Koyel bridge. He said there would be a saving time of around 1 hour for the student who boards the bus first.

Koyel bridge

There is a Koyel bridge between Daltonganj and Chainpur, and here, jams are a rule, added Anand Kumar.

Anand Kumar said the new franchise school will be a walkable or pedalling distance for students of Chainpur block. The students will love to be in their surroundings and environment.

Anand Kumar said forms and prospectus for new students at this franchise school will be available at Rs 500.

The franchise school will follow the parent St. Mariam school’s books and syllabus. It has a very safe and secure campus, far from the hustle-bustle crowd of the town.

Chairman Avinash Dev said the 5th pass out of this franchise school would have direct admission in the parent St Mariam school.

Parents and guardians have welcomed this relocation of students from class nursery to class 5.
