AAP releases first candidate list for Delhi Assembly polls

New Delhi, Nov 21: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced its first list of 11 candidates for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections, which are anticipated to take place in early 2025.

These candidates named in the first list include Brahm Singh Tanwar from Chhatarpur constituency, Anil Jha from Kiradi, Deepak Singla from Vishwas Nagar, Sarita Singh from Rohtash Nagar, BB Tyagi from Laxmi Nagar, Ram Singh Netaji from Badarpur, Chaudhary Zubair Ahmad from Seelampur, Veer Singh Dhingan from Seemapuri, Gaurav Sharma from Ghonda, Manoj Tyagi from Karawal Nagar, and Sumesh Shokeen from Matiala assembly constituency.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has allocated tickets to BJP turncoats leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar, Anil Jha, and BB Tyagi, along with Congress defectors Chaudhary Zubair Ahmad, Veer Singh Dhinghan, and Sumesh Shokeen.

The party has decided not to field three sitting MLAs: Gulab Singh Yadav from Matiala, Rituraj Jha from Kiradi, and Abdul Rehman from Seelampur.

The party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC) convened earlier in the day at the residence of national convenor Arvind Kejriwal to finalize the first list. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, along with minister and party leader Gopal Rai, also attended the meeting.

Delhi’s assembly elections are expected to take place in early 2025, though the Election Commission has not yet declared the official dates.

Delhi last held its Assembly elections in February 2020 in which the AAP won 62 out of the 70 Assembly seats.
