ACB likely to initiate legal action against Kejriwal, AAP leaders over MLA poaching claims

THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

New Delhi, Feb 11: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is expected to take legal action against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal, Mukesh Ahlawat, and Sanjay Singh, after receiving no response to its notice regarding allegations that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attempted to poach AAP MLAs, sources from the ACB told news agency ANI.

Sources indicate that if the party fails to respond, the ACB will write to Delhi Police, asking for legal proceedings against the leaders.

The controversy began when AAP alleged that the BJP had offered Rs 15 crore to its MLAs in an attempt to lure them away. While BJP has strongly refuted these claims, Kejriwal and other AAP members have repeatedly raised the issue on social media.

The ACB, treating the allegations as serious, issued a notice to Kejriwal, asking him to provide details about the 16 MLAs allegedly approached with bribe offers. The bureau also sought information on the content of their tweets and the identities of those involved in the alleged bribery.

Additionally, on February 7, AAP leader Mukesh Ahlawat was served a notice regarding the same accusations. Kejriwal was asked to present any supporting evidence to substantiate his claims. However, with no response forthcoming from AAP, authorities are now considering further legal action in the coming days.
