Ranchi, August 1: As preparations gear up for the grand Adivasi Mahotsava 2025, a key highlight of this year’s celebration will be a specially curated Film Festival, showcasing works by local artists from Jharkhand. Scheduled from 9 to 11 August 2025, the festival promises a vibrant blend of tradition, creativity and innovation.

Spotlight on Jharkhandi Cinema

The film festival will present a platform for homegrown talent, screening films that reflect the stories, struggles and cultural richness of the region. By centering local voices, the event aims to both celebrate and elevate tribal narratives on a larger stage.

Reej-Rang Rasika: A Cultural Procession of Grandeur

Adding to the visual spectacle, Reej-Rang Rasika will bring the streets to life as 32 tribal artists perform through various intersections en route to the main venue. Their tableaus will artistically portray the art, music and customs of Jharkhand’s tribal communities, culminating in a majestic display at the festival grounds.

A Festival Rooted in Heritage and Innovation

The stage design will weave together elements of tradition and modern technology, offering visitors a multi-sensory experience. From drone and laser shows to selfie points across Ranchi and other districts, every detail is being planned to reflect the identity of modern Jharkhand.

Cultural Showcase and New Additions

A variety of new features are being introduced this year, including:

  • Jharkhandi Cuisine Stalls
  • A Grand Kavi Sammelan, likely to feature celebrated poets including Kumar Vishwas and Sampat Saral
  • Media Centre Setup for Wider Coverage
  • Tribal Costume Show
  • Free Health Check-up Camps for visitors

Pathway of Culture and Coordinated Planning

The road to the festival venue will be decorated with tribal motifs and cultural symbols, giving attendees a warm welcome steeped in heritage. Detailed discussions during a recent review meeting ensured that security, parking and inter-departmental coordination are all being prioritised to ensure a smooth and safe event.

Leadership and Planning in Full Swing

The review meeting, held at the Chief Secretary Auditorium in Project Bhawan, was chaired by Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari. Rajiv Lochan Bakshi, Special Secretary of the Information and Public Relations Department, presented updates on the festival’s progress. Key officials from departments including Welfare, Art and Culture, Police, and Municipal Administration were present to align efforts.

A Celebration for All

With its rich programme of events, the Adivasi Mahotsava 2025 is shaping up to be a powerful expression of Jharkhand’s tribal identity and contemporary spirit. Whether through film, food, fashion or poetry, the festival offers something for everyone.
