New Delhi, July 11: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday held a high-level review meeting with Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to evaluate ongoing work related to the Yamuna River rejuvenation initiative.

The meeting, attended by Union Ministers Manohar Lal Khattar and CR Patil, Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Verma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, focused on how different agencies are coordinating their efforts on the ground.

The discussion comes in the wake of a 45-point action plan launched by the Delhi Jal Board under CM Gupta’s leadership.

With a ₹9,000 crore budget, the plan includes measures to upgrade sewer systems, improve water supply infrastructure, and introduce greater accountability in tanker services. Officials have set a target to finish the work by next year.

Chief Minister Gupta is personally overseeing the implementation, while Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and PWD Minister Verma are also involved in monitoring progress. The Yamuna project remains a key issue involving multiple departments and levels of administration.
