New Delhi, Nov 8: Cooperation Minister Amit Shah launched the ‘Bharat Organics’ brand from the newly established National Cooperative Organics Ltd (NCOL) on Wednesday, emphasizing that it would gain recognition as the most “trusted” brand in India and overseas.
In addition, Shah unveiled the NCOL’s logo, website and brochure. He presented five cooperative societies with NCOL membership certificates.
Speaking at the national symposium focused on promoting organic products through cooperatives, Shah stated, “NCOL is a platform for organic growers. Today, we are launching six products under the ‘Bharat Organics’ brand and 20 products by December.”
He stated that Mother Dairy’s Safal stores and online platforms will sell the six organic items, which include Sonamasoori rice, tur dal, chana dal, sugar, rajma, and basmati rice. He also mentioned that a nationwide network of retail stores is being established.
He said that NCOL will sell its organic products in India at first, then expand its marketing to other nations.
Shah went on to say that member farmers will receive a direct payout of roughly 50% of the profits from the sale of organic items made through NCOL.
The Multi-State Cooperative Societies Act of 2002 led to the establishment of the Gujarat-based NCOL, whose principal promoter is the National Dairy Development Board.
For the ultimate benefit of farmer members, the Minister stated that NCOL seeks to cover the whole organic product supply chain through cooperative networks, engaging in a variety of activities such as aggregation, certification, production, testing, procurement, storage, processing, branding, packaging, labelling, and marketing.
