Ranchi, Sept 27: Former Chief Minister Arjun Munda today told the Hemant government that the farmers whose land had been taken by the Abhijeet group to set up an integrated steel plant project in Seraikela-Kharsawan district should be returned immediately.

In 2009, the Abhijeet Group announced plans to build a steel plant in Seraikela, with plans to produce 0.5 million tons of steel in the first phase. The company had acquired 450 acres of land and had received regulatory clearances for water, forest, and power. However, it went sick so much so that in 2022, three people were arrested for stealing iron and aluminium goods from the closed plant in Dasiadih village.

Munda along with his wife Meera Munda, addressing the BJP’s Parivartan Sabha was organised on Friday at Birsa Munda Stadium in Kuchai block of Kharsawan assembly, targeted the government fiercely by cornering it on issues like education, health, and industry of Kharsawan assembly.

At the same time, on the information of the auction of the closed Abhijeet company, he warned the state government from the stage and said that if the government has such an intention, then even if I have to sit on a dharna in protest against it, I will not back down.

Incomplete medical college hospital

He termed the incomplete medical college hospital in Amda as the failure of the government.

The former Chief Minister also targeted the Maiyaan Samman Yatra taken out by the JMM government. He said that this is a loot of government money.

“Transfer-posting has taken the form of a cottage industry in the state. The public is crying for help and the government is playing the flute. The people of the state have made up their minds for change this time, and this crowd, which thronged braving the inclement weather, is saying that change will happen in the state.

During this, District Board Chairman Sonaram Bodra also targeted the Hemant Soren government and said that this government has failed on every front. Further, he said that Maiyaan Samman Yatra is a sham. Every section is troubled due to the policies of the state government, he added.
