Ramgarh, Sept 4: In a significant step towards strengthening emergency healthcare support, two BHISHM Cubes — portable, state-of-the-art medical units designed to deliver critical care in record time — have been deployed at the Punjab Regimental Centre, Ramgarh Cantt.

Cutting-Edge Support for Emergencies

The initiative, facilitated by the Director General of Infantry in collaboration with the ICICI Foundation, reflects the Indian Army’s commitment to harnessing technology for both operational and humanitarian needs. Compact and easy to deploy, each BHISHM Cube is equipped with life-saving medicines and essential tools, ensuring immediate medical attention during emergencies.

A key advantage of the system is its ability to provide effective treatment within the “Golden Hour” — the crucial first hour that often determines survival in medical crises.

Training for Seamless Integration

To ensure smooth induction and effective utilisation, a four-day intensive training capsule was conducted at the Centre from 1–4 September 2025 in collaboration with Green Genome India Pvt Ltd. The programme offered hands-on experience, enabling personnel to operate the units confidently and extend rapid medical assistance in the field.

Civilian doctors also attended the training to ensure that, when required, the equipment can be seamlessly integrated with the civil healthcare system.

Army’s Commitment to Care

With this initiative, the Indian Army takes another stride in blending technology with compassion, reaffirming its dedication to safeguarding soldiers’ lives and providing timely support wherever needed.
