At Hindalco’s Saarthi Utsav, DC hails truck drivers as backbone of mining trade

Lohardaga, Sept 8: Hindalco Industries Limited, the flagship company of the Aditya Birla Group, organised Saarthi Utsav 2025 on Monday at Pakhar Mines to honour truck drivers and acknowledge their vital role in mining operations.

DC Praises Drivers

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Kumar Tarachand described truck drivers as the backbone of the mining trade. He praised Hindalco for recognising their contribution by giving them the identity of “Saarthi” and urged the 250 participating drivers to perform their duties with greater responsibility.

SP Urges Skill Growth

Superintendent of Police Sadique Anwar Rizvi underlined the importance of continuous skill development among truck drivers. He remarked that initiatives like Saarthi Utsav strengthen morale and encourage professionalism.

Hindalco’s Acknowledgement

Hindalco’s Head of Mining and Minerals, B.K. Jha said truck drivers are indispensable to the company’s operations and are regarded as part of the Hindalco family. He added that the company’s achievements would not be possible without their dedicated service.

Commitment to Drivers

Logistics Head Sukanta Das assured that Hindalco remains committed to providing improved facilities and raising drivers’ living standards. He noted that the purpose of the event was to build direct engagement with drivers and recognise their contribution.

25 Drivers Honoured

As part of the program, the Centre for Driver Relation Management (CDRM), in collaboration with Hindalco, honoured 25 truck drivers for outstanding performance, adherence to safety rules, and exemplary behaviour. Several drivers also shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to Hindalco for organising the event.

The programme was attended by Lohardaga SDPO Shraddha Kerketta, the District Transport Officer, Hindalco officials, and employees.
