Lucknow, Feb 12: Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya’s Ram Janmabhoomi temple, passed away this morning. The 85-year-old Acharya took his last breath at Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) Hospital in Lucknow.
Acharya’s disciple, Pradeep Das, informed that his mortal remains are being brought to Ayodhya. His last rites will be performed tomorrow, February 13, on the banks of the Saryu River in Ayodhya.

He had been receiving treatment in the High Dependency Unit (HDU) of SGPGI’s Neurology ward after suffering a stroke on February 3.

Under the supervision of a senior consultant from the Neurology department, he remained in critical condition.
On February 4, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited him at the hospital to inquire about his well-being.
