“This vice-presidential contest is an ideological battle, and all the opposition parties agreed on this, and this is the reason we have nominated B Sudershan Reddy as the joint candidate”, Kharge said.

Reddy will face NDA candidate C.P. Radhakrishnan in the election. The BJP has nominated Radhakrishnan, who hails from Tamil Nadu, in what is seen as an attempt to consolidate its position in southern politics.
