Dhanbad, Nov 4: Post Graduate  (PG) departments and college teachers of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) Dhanbad are on the boil over delayed and uncertainty in salary payment of October month.

A joint delegation of the PG Teachers Association and the University Teachers Association met Vice-Chancellor (acting) Dr PK Poddar in his chamber and requested him to release the  October salary payment without delay in the wake of Diwali and other festivals in the month.

VC Dr Poddar assured the delegation to take proper and quick action for payment as soon as possible.

University sources said that the October payment of teachers is held up due to the vacant post of Finance Officer (FO). The finance officer Dr Munmun Sharan’s tenure completed on October 22 but the Raj Bhawan has not appointed  a FO in the university till date.

The Raj Bhawan sacked Vice-Chancellor Dr Sukhdeo Bhoi on October 13 on alleged financial and administrative irregularities. Thereafter axe also fell on four other senior officers of the university including the Finance Advisor (FA) resulting in financial activities in the university being completely hampered.

Though the Raj Bhawan has authorised the acting VC (Dr PK Poddar) to decide on policy matters besides day-to-day official works, he is taking each and every step after calculating.

Dr DK Singh, general secretary of the PG Teachers Association, who led the delegation to the Vice-Chancellor said, “We urged the VC to ensure salary payment immediately as Diwali and Chhath festivals also fall in this month Moreover, most of the teachers have been pressured to deposit EMI instalments.  So, take salary payment matter seriously and do it”.

“We also requested the VC to adjust Ganesh Chaturthi’s leave as teachers did not avail it’, said Dr Singh.

PG Teachers Association president Dr Bhagwan Pathak,  outgoing  BBMKU Teachers Association president Dr RK Tiwary, Dr BN Singh, Dr  Jitendra Aryan, Dr Krishna Murari, Dr Anil Kumar Singh and Dr RS  Pall were other members of the delegation.
