Dhanbad, Dec 7: Dr Dharmendra Kumar Singh and Dr Amulya Suman Beck, both postgraduate department teachers, are set to be elected unanimously president and general secretary respectively of the Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University Teachers Association (BBMKUTA).

The coordinator of the BBMKUTA election, Dr KM Singh, said that a total of 18 candidates filed nominations for 13 posts.  While one candidate each filed nominations for the post of president and general secretary, 8 candidates for vice-president post, 6 candidates for secretary post and 2 candidates for treasurer post are in the race.

Meanwhile, seven candidates filed their papers today i.e. the last date for filing nominations. Among them, three are for vice-president- Dr Anamika Kujur (RSP College Jharia), Dr Ram Prakash (Chas College Chas) and Dr Rashmi Kujur; Three candidates for the post of secretary: Dr David Murmu(Chas College Chas), Dr Ashutosh Rahul Tirki (PK Roy Memorial College Dhanbad) and Dr Masum Ahmed ( PG department).

Ajit Narayan Das filed a nomination for the post of treasurer today.

The coordinator, Dr KM Singh, said tomorrow is the withdrawal date and he will declare the names of candidates in the election after 3 pm.

President of the outgoing committee Dr RK Tiwary, general secretary Dr Himanshu Shekhar Choudhary and Dr BN Singh did not enter the fray this time.
