New Delhi, June 15: In the alleged Swati Maliwal assault case, Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court has prolonged the judicial custody of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, until June 22.

Kumar is accused of physically assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal on May 13 at the official residence of Delhi’s Chief Minister.
After Kumar’s judicial custody period expired on Saturday, the Tis Hazari Court decided to extend his custody.

Kumar appeared via video conference before the duty metropolitan magistrate, who extended his custody and scheduled his next appearance for June 22, directing the Delhi Police accordingly.

Kumar was apprehended by the Delhi Police on May 18 for allegedly assaulting Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal.
Maliwal has accused Kumar of assaulting her at the official residence of the Chief Minister on May 13.
An FIR was filed against Kumar on May 16 under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including those pertaining to criminal intimidation, assault on a woman with the intent to disrobe, and attempted culpable homicide.
