Patna, March 29: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the Class 10 (matric) results on Saturday. Education Minister Sunil Kumar declared the results.

A total of 15,58,077 students appeared for the exam, out of which 12,79,294 candidates—82.5 per cent—have passed.

This year, three students—Sakshi Kumari, Anshi Kumari, and Ranjan Verma—secured the top position with an impressive score of 489 out of 500, achieving a remarkable 97.8 per cent. Their exceptional performance placed them at the forefront of the merit list.

A total of 123 students earned a place in the top 10 rankings, with 63 boys and 60 girls, highlighting a nearly equal representation of both genders among the highest scorers.

Meanwhile, Puneet Kumar Singh, Sachin Kumar Ram, and Priyanshu Raj secured the second position, each scoring 488 marks (97.60 per cent).

Mohan Kumar, Suraj Kumar Pandey, Khushi Kumari, Priyanshu Ranjan, and Rohit Kumar ranked third, all achieving 487 marks (97.40 per cent).

The Class 10 results for 2025 have shown a slight decline compared to 2024. Last year, the pass percentage stood at 82.91 per cent, whereas this year, it has dropped to 82.5 per cent.

Looking at the past five years, the pass percentages have fluctuated. In 2020, 80.59 per cent of students cleared the exam, followed by 78.17 per cent in 2021. The results improved in 2022, with a pass rate of 79.88 per cent, further rising to 81.04 per cent in 2023 and peaking at 82.91 per cent in 2024.

However, the slight dip in 2025 marks a deviation from the upward trend observed in recent years.
