Patna, April 25: Police stated that Saurabh Kumar, a leader of the Janata Dal-United (JDU), was fatally shot by assailants on motorcycles in Patna on Wednesday night.
Saurabh Kumar was coming from a wedding reception event, according to the police, when the attack happened. The incident also injured one of the JDU leader’s companions.
Four men on bikes are said to have shot the JDU leader twice in the head. After both victims were taken to the hospital, Munmun was admitted in critical condition and Saurabh Kumar was pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors.

“Saurabh Kumar came with his friends to attend a reception function. While returning he was shot by unidentified assailants who were on a motorcycle. Then he was taken to hospital and one other person named Munmun Kumar also sustained injuries. They were taken to Kankarbagh Uma hospital, however, by then Saurabh Kumar died. We are examining the matter,” Kanhaiya Singh, Masaurhi SDPO stated.
He mentioned that efforts are currently ongoing to locate the unidentified attackers.
