Ranchi, June 2: A major accident was averted at Ranchi airport on Monday when an IndiGo flight collided with a bird during takeoff. Following the bird strike, the pilot safely executed an emergency landing.

According to sources, the bird strike occurred during takeoff at Ranchi airport. The aircraft remained airborne for about 40 minutes afterward.

However, the pilot acted cautiously and carried out a safe emergency landing back at Ranchi airport. Fortunately, no passengers were harmed.

Currently, the aircraft is undergoing inspection. It will only be allowed to fly again after safety checks and approvals are completed.
