Ranchi, May 2: BJP State President Aditya Sahu and General Secretary (Organisation) Karmveer Singh visited the Ranchi residence of young swimmer Ishank Singh to honour him and extend best wishes for his future.
Ishank Singh, aged just 7, has set a world record by swimming across the 29-km Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka in 9 hours and 50 minutes. The feat has brought pride to Jharkhand and the nation.
Leaders Praise Young Talent
Aditya Sahu said Ishank’s achievement reflects extraordinary talent and continuous, rigorous practice. He described it as a moment of pride for Jharkhand and said the young swimmer’s determination proves that age is no barrier to success.

He added that Ishank’s accomplishment will inspire children and youth across the state and the country.
Karmveer Singh said Ishank has brought glory to Jharkhand by achieving this milestone at such a young age. He noted that the swimmer covered the distance from Talaimannar in Sri Lanka to Dhanushkodi in India, creating history.

Sahu congratulated Ishank, his parents, and coaches for the achievement and expressed hope that he will continue to excel and bring further recognition to Jharkhand and India.
Chief Whip Naveen Jaiswal and State Executive Committee member Ramesh Singh were also present on the occasion.
