Ranchi, June 4: As the Lok Sabha election results continue to unfold, the state of Jharkhand is witnessing closely contested races across several constituencies.
According to the data provided by the Election Commission of India, the BJP is currently leading in seven Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. Congress on the other hand is ahead on four seats while its ally JMM ahead on two seats. BJP’s ally AJSU is also leading in one seat.
In Dhanbad, Anupama Singh from the Indian National Congress is currently leading the charge against Dulu Mahato of the Bharatiya Janata Party, maintaining a narrow margin of 358 votes. Meanwhile, in Dumka, Sita Soren of the Bharatiya Janata Party has gained a substantial lead of 9601 votes over Nalin Soren of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha.
In Giridih Chandra Prakash Choudhary, representing the AJSU Party, leads with a margin of 5754 votes against Mathura Prasad Mahato of JMM whereas in Godda, Nishikant Dubey of the Bharatiya Janata Party holds a lead of 4456 votes over Pradeep Yadav of the Indian National Congress.
The Hazaribagh constituency witnesses a significant lead by Manish Jaiswal of the BJP, who is ahead by 21680 votes against Jai Prakash Bhai Patel of Congress. Meanwhile, in Jamshedpur, Bidyut Baran Mahato of the BJP maintains a commanding lead of 47416 votes over Samir Kumar Mohanty of the JMM.
In Khunti, Kali Charan Munda from Congress leads by 6023 votes against Arjun Munda of the BJP, while in Kodarma, Annapurna Devi of the BJP is ahead by 1823 votes against Vinod Kumar Singh of the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation).
The constituency of Lohardaga sees Samir Oraon of the BJP trailing by 1130 votes against Sukhdeo Bhagat of Congress. Palamu presents a substantial lead for Vishnu Dayal Ram of the BJP, who is ahead by 35739 votes against Mamta Bhuiyan of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD).
In Rajmahal, Vijay Kumar Hansdak of the JMM leads with a margin of 7579 votes against Tala Marandi of the BJP.
In Chatra, Krishna Nand Tripathi, representing the Congress, is in a close contest against Kali Charan Singh of the Bharatiya Janata Party, with Tripathi currently leading by a slim margin of 328 votes.
In Ranchi, Sanjay Seth of the BJP is currently leading against Yashaswini Sahay of Congress, with Seth ahead by 1750 votes.
In Singhbhum, Joba Majhi from the JMM holds a lead over Geeta Kora of the BJP, with Majhi leading by 20207 votes.
