Ranchi, September 24: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday appointed Pawan Sai as the State General Secretary (Organisation) for Jharkhand, giving him the responsibility of coordinating and strengthening the party’s organisational machinery in the state. He will be based in Ranchi.
The appointment comes shortly after the BJP assigned Gajendra Singh Patel as the party’s Jharkhand in-charge, with Saurabh Singh and Nivedita Singh named as co-in-charges. The latest organisational reshuffle gives the BJP a new team at the state level as it seeks to strengthen its organisational structure in Jharkhand.
Jharkhand’s incumbent State General Secretary (Organisation), Karmveer Singh, has been shifted to Chhattisgarh with the same organisational responsibility.
The changes place new organisational leadership in Jharkhand alongside the newly appointed state in-charge and co-in-charges.
Saudan Singh gets responsibility for four eastern states
Senior BJP organisational leader Saudan Singh, who has previously worked in Jharkhand, has been assigned responsibility for Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. His base will be in Bhubaneswar.
The assignment gives him an organisational role covering four politically important eastern states.
BJP reshuffles organisational leadership across states
The party has also announced a broad reshuffle of organisational responsibilities across the country.
Shivprakash, National Joint General Secretary (Organisation), has been assigned Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Goa, with Mumbai as his base.
- Satish has been given responsibility for the BJP’s SC/ST Morcha and parliamentary office and will be based in Delhi, while Nagendra will handle coordination with senior party workers from Delhi.
In Maharashtra, Ajay Jamwal has been appointed Organisational In-charge, while Satish Dhond will handle Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in addition to his Maharashtra responsibilities. He will also oversee tribal outreach in Maharashtra from Nagpur.
New organisational appointments in other states
The BJP has made several other appointments, including:
- Madhukar — Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
- Dashrath — Telangana
- Ravindra Raju — Assam and Tripura, besides office construction
- Bhikhubhai Dalsania — Bihar
- Siddharthan — Himachal Pradesh
- Ratnakar — Gujarat, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu
- Arun Binnadi — Gujarat
- Phanindranath Sharma — Uttarakhand
- Pawan Rana — Delhi and Haryana
- Chandrashekhar — Madhya Pradesh
- Manas Mohanty — Odisha
- Mantri Srinivasulu — Punjab and Chandigarh
- Dharmpal — Uttar Pradesh
- Amitabh Chakraborty — West Bengal
The party has also finalised several regional-level organisational appointments.
