Ranchi, Nov 4: Union Agriculture Minister and Jharkhand Assembly Election In-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday attacked the JMM-Congress coalition government and said that the coalition government has destroyed and ruined the beautiful state, rich in forest wealth, water wealth and mineral wealth.

Addressing a public meeting in support of BJP candidate Ramkumar Pahan in the Khijri constituency, Chouhan said the entire state has been looted.

“Here, mountains of money are being recovered from the houses of leaders and ministers and the people of Jharkhand are suffering. The JMM has brought Jharkhand to the brink of destruction and this is the reason why the people of Jharkhand have now decided to overthrow the JMM-Congress coalition government,” he added.

A new revolution is needed in Jharkhand

Chouhan said that if Jharkhand has to be saved, a new revolution will have to be done. “This is the land where Bhagwan Birsa Munda blew the trumpet of revolution against the atrocities and injustice of the British and made the British bite the dust. The British trembled at his name. The British also used to commit atrocities, injustice and exploitation and today exploitation has reached its extreme in the JMM-Congress coalition government as well. Sisters and daughters are not safe here, foreign intruders are coming here, marrying daughters by trapping them in the web of illusion and occupying lands, occupying panchayats,” he said.

Women empowerment

The union minister said that five years ago Hemant Soren had promised women that they would be given Rs 2,000 per month for cooking expenses, but he did not remember the sisters for 4 years and 10 months and as soon as the elections came, in the greed for votes, he deposited Rs 1,000 each in the accounts of the sisters.

Injustice to youth

Chouhan said that the JMM government had promised to give 5 lakh government jobs, but not a single job was given in the last five years. “There was a promise of giving an unemployment allowance of 5 to 7 thousand rupees, but even the allowance was not given. As soon as the BJP government is formed, the recruitment process will be started for 2 lakh 87 thousand vacant posts. One and a half lakh jobs will be given in the first year itself. A proper calendar will be prepared to decide on which date the examination will be held, on which date the result will come and on which date the appointment letters will be distributed,” he added.

The minister said that, in Jharkhand, sand is also being sold in buckets and kilos. “The poor are not even getting sand to build houses, but after the formation of the BJP government, every poor person on the land of Jharkhand will be given money to build a permanent house and sand will be given free. No one will live under a kutcha roof,” he promised.
