Lucknow, March 6: The UP STF and Punjab Police in a joint operation arrested Lajar Masih, an active member of the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and ISI module, early this morning in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district.
He is currently being interrogated at the UP STF police station, and his arrest could unveil crucial details about the terrorist network.
The arrested terrorist, Lajar Masih, is a resident of Amritsar, Punjab. Authorities have recovered three live hand grenades, two active detonators, 13 cartridges, and a foreign pistol, along with other illegal weapons and explosives from his possession.
According to reports, Lajar Masih works for Swaran Singh, also known as Jeevan Fauji, the head of the Germany-based Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) module. Moreover, he is in direct contact with operatives of Pakistan-based ISI.
Lajar Masih was reportedly arrested by the Punjab Police a few months ago. However, in September 2024, he escaped from police custody, prompting an extensive search by Punjab Police. Multiple raids were conducted across several states, but he remained elusive.
Meanwhile, intelligence reports indicated that he was hiding in Uttar Pradesh’s Kaushambi district. Acting on this information, Punjab Police and the UP STF conducted a joint raid and successfully arrested him.
