Ranchi, Dec 6: Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel, facing trial in a cheque bounce case in a Ranchi court, today deposited Rs 1000 as a fine.
Her advocate deposited the fine amount imposed by the court in the earlier hearing.
According to the complainant’s lawyer Vijay Laxmi, the fine was imposed after she pleaded to recall Ajay Kumar Singh, a witness. “The court had earlier discharged Ajay Kumar Singh alias Tinku Singh, who happens to be the manager of the complainant (also known as Ajay Kumar Singh) after Ameesha Patel’s lawyer failed to cross-examine him on the scheduled date. Later, she insisted on recalling the witness leading the court to impose a fine for wasting its precious time,” she said and added that the court, however, allowed her plea.
After this, the complainant’s witness Ajay Kumar was cross-examined today. Now the hearing of this case will be held on December 11 in the court of JMFC (Judicial Magistrate First Class) Digvijay Nath Shukla.
