Dhanbad, Dec 4: A Day after the shoot-out incident in the Dhanbad jail, the district administration suspended the jailer and recommended immediate transfer of the jail superintendent along with 7 cell keepers.
The two pistols used in the Dhanbad jail shoot-out incident were recovered.
Notably, a notorious criminal, Aman Singh, was killed in the jail hospital ward on Sunday late afternoon in the shoot-out incident.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Barun Ranjan today informed media persons that based on CCTV footage screening of the jail, two pistols used in the shoot-out were recovered. In a comprehensive search of the jail, six mobile phone sets and Rs 18,000 cash were also recovered.
“The district administration has also identified officials and personnel whose lapses caused the incident. Jailer Md Mustkin Ansari has been suspended and departmental action has been recommended against him,” said DC Barun Ranjan
Besides the jailer, the district administration has suspended 5 cell keepers and transferred them while the contract of two cell keepers ( ex-army men) has been terminated.
DC order to shift 23 prisoners
The district administration has also recommended transferring Dhanbad jail superintendent M Barua and 23 prisoners to other state jails. The DC said that the accused has been identified as Sunder Mahto. Police have taken the accused Sunder Mahto on five days’ remand from the court and after his interrogation details will surface.
“Four FIRs have been lodged and the hospital ward where the incident took place has been barricaded,” said the DC. The district administration has set up a high-level probe committee comprising ADM (law and order), an Additional collector and the City SP.
A high-level inquiry committee has also been set up by the state government. The DC has also requested the Principal District and Sessions Judge for the appointment of a judicial magistrate for a judicial probe.
After the post-mortem, the body of Aman Singh was handed over to his family members from Uttar Pradesh.
The report has also been sent to the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi.
