Dhanbad, January 13: In an unprecedented move, Jharkhand’s premier tour and travel company ‘Easy Trips’ has cancelled bookings for the Maldives tour in the wake of unsavoury remarks by ministers of the neighbouring country against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Insulting comments against Modi

The founders of Chaibasa (West Singhbhum)-based ‘Easy Trips’ company, Sudeep Sharma and Nishna Choubey, jointly giving this information, said that keeping the insulting comments of some Maldives ministers against the Prime Minister of India in mind, it has been decided not to take any booking for Maldives tour.

Easy Trips

‘Easy Trips’ tour and travel agency is a four-year-old company from Chaibasa ( West Singhbhum) and Pune.

“Before our unprecedented move (banning booking for Maldives), the people who had booked for Maldives tour through our company in advance three months ago spontaneously cancelled their bookings after comments of Maldives ministers. So, keeping the sentiment of the country’s people in mind, we decided not to take bookings for the Maldives without taking care of profit and loss in business,” said Sudeep Sharma and Nishan Choubey.

 Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep

The ‘Easy Trips’ tour and travel operators said that whatever inquiry comes to the company about the Maldives tour, they try to divert them towards Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep to promote both the picturesque tourist spots of the country.

“ We not only stopped booking for Maldives, but our company has also offered a special package for a tour of Lakshadweep and Andaman Nicobar,” said Nishan Choubey.
