Jamshedpur, July 27: In a breakthrough, the Jamshedpur police nabbed a brown sugar supplier from near Tatanagar station under the Bagbera thana area on Saturday.

The arrested drug supplier has been identified as Jameer Ahmed, a resident of Kitadih Masjid Road in Kitadih and is suspected to be a member of an inter-state drugs suppliers’ gang.

170 small packets of brown sugar
The police have seized 170 small packets of brown sugar and Rs 46,000 cash from the possession of the accused.

Revealing the breakthrough, the City SP, Rishab Garg, said they received an intelligence input that a youth was standing at Chaibasa Bus Stand near Tatanagar station on Station-Parsudih Road waiting for a bus.

Garg while briefing the newsmen this evening said that the information was about the youth to be a suspected drug supplier. He pointed out that soon after the tip-off, they assigned the Bagbera thana OC to carry out the operation and immediately after the youth was nabbed.
The City SP pointed out that on searching the suspect the police recovered 170 packets of brown sugar and Rs 46,000 cash from his possession. The police had immediately arrested the suspect.
On being interrogated, the accused divulged that one of his close relatives, Mohammed Daulat who is a resident of West Bengal had given the brown sugar to supply the drugs in Jamshedpur and adjoining areas.
The senior police officer stated that the arrested person was to have revealed the name of one Mohammed Raj of Haldipokhar to be involved in the drugs supply racket.
