Brutal chopper attack in Jamshedpur leaves one dead, another fighting for life

Jamshedpur, January 5:Panic gripped the Telco police station area of Jamshedpur on Sunday night after unidentified assailants carried out a brutal chopper attack on two youths, leaving one dead and the other critically injured.

Body Recovered, Injured Victim Hospitalised

The body of Mohammad Sohail was later recovered from behind the Nildih Club, while the second victim, Abdul Sufiyan, is currently battling for life at MGM Hospital, police said.

Victims Identified

According to police, Mohammad Sohail was a resident of Khajanchi Mohalla under the Jugsalai police station area, while Abdul Sufiyan lives near the Babu Flat area.

The two youths were reportedly in the Telco area for some work when they were suddenly attacked by unknown criminals.

One Escapes, One Goes Missing

During the attack, Sohail sustained serious injuries, while Abdul Sufiyan, despite being injured, managed to escape from the spot.

Sufiyan later told police that he fled in an attempt to save his life, leaving Sohail behind in a grievously wounded condition. When Sohail failed to return home, his family lodged a missing person complaint.

Murder Case Confirmed

The case took a tragic turn when Sohail’s body was recovered from behind the Nildih Club, confirming that the incident was a case of murder.

Following the recovery, the Telco police rushed to the spot and collected crucial evidence.

Police Probe Underway, CCTV Footage Examined

Police officials said that CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the attackers.
Preliminary investigations indicate the possibility of personal enmity or an old rivalry behind the crime.

Police teams have launched raids at multiple locations to arrest those involved in the incident.

Panic in Locality, Residents Demand Security

The incident has triggered panic in the area, with local residents demanding swift action against the culprits and improved security arrangements.
