Jamshedpur, Jan 29: The campus of the Kadma-based Kerala Public School witnessed a very different event today.
It was the Matri Pitri Pujan Diwas Celebration.
Guests and Dignitaries
A galaxy of dignitaries graced the occasion. Manorama Nair, the Chairperson; Sharmila Mukherjee, principal; Alamelu Ravishankar, head mistress were present.

Purpose
In order to “cultivate Indian cultural values among school children”, the Students from Std III to IX celebrated Matri Pitri Pujan Diwas.

Synopsis
The function started with welcoming the parents followed by lighting of the lamp with a welcome song by the students which left the spectators spellbound and thoroughly mesmerised.
The Chairperson -Manorama Nair addressed the gathering by saying how parents are one of the best gifts by God.
The students worshipped their parents and sought their blessings by offering them tilak, garland and showering flowers, doing aarti and expressing their feelings towards their parents.
It is seen by many as a method to cement the bond between family members and to imbibe good values like respect, obedience and humility in children.
The atmosphere was extremely emotional, as tears started rolling out from their eyes. It was a wonderful sight to visualise where students showed immense gratitude towards their parents.
The vote of thanks was delivered by the head mistress followed by the national anthem.
