New Delhi, Feb 19: The Ministry of Home Affairs has announced that a high-level committee, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, has approved ₹1,554.99 crore in additional central assistance under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) for five states affected by natural calamities in 2024.

Andhra Pradesh is set to receive the highest allocation of ₹608.08 crore, followed by Tripura with ₹288.93 crore, Odisha with ₹255.24 crore, Telangana with ₹231.75 crore, and Nagaland with ₹170.99 crore.

The aid is intended to support recovery efforts in states impacted by floods, flash floods, landslides, and cyclonic storms.
