Giridih, May 2: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha Gandey assembly by-election candidate Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, today alleged that the central government gives step-motherly treatment to the people of Jharkhand and does not want the development of the state.

Kalpna Soren, who was addressing an election rally at Bengabad in Gandey assembly constituency of Giridih on Thursday afternoon, said that the BJP-led central government has done nothing, especially for Jharkhand in 10 years and always did step-motherly treatment with people.

“The Centre has held up Rs 1.36 lakh crores of Jharkhand.   Had it been paid to Jharkhand; the state would have been developed completely. But the centre does not want to release the due and development of Jharkhand and its people,” charged Kalpana Soren.

The JMM candidate said that the centre has robbed the coal and mines of Jharkhand and stopped the development of the state. She urged the people to vote on the symbol of bow and arrow to ensure the release of Hemant Soren from jail.

Braving the heat wave villagers in large numbers turned up in the rally of Kalpna Soren chanting ‘Jail Ka Tala Tutega Hemant Soren Chutega’.

Voting on the Gandey assembly by-election is scheduled for May 20
