PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Sept 15: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K. Ravi Kumar on Monday undertook a field visit to remote polling stations in the Ghurabandha block of Ghatshila Assembly constituency, ahead of the forthcoming by-election.

Reviewing preparations at a meeting with the District Electoral Officer, EROs, AEROs and BLO supervisors at the Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Office, the CEO directed officials to identify all constituency and border check posts, constitute flying squads and other election-related teams, and ensure proper facilities at polling stations.

He underlined the Election Commission’s objective of “no voter left behind” and urged extensive awareness campaigns to motivate people to enroll and vote.

Later, Kumar inspected Polling Station No. 189 at Primary School, Khejurdadi. He interacted with the Booth Level Officer (BLO) and appreciated her door-to-door efforts in adding new voters, updating records, and collecting required forms from every household. He also instructed BLOs to cross-check names, enroll first-time voters, and update lists by removing entries of deceased or absent voters.

The inspection was attended by District Electoral Officer–cum–Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi, Joint CEO Subodh Kumar ,Deputy CEO Dev Das Dutta and Deputy Electoral Officer Priyanka Singh.
