Bijapur, Dec 16: Following a gunfight in the forests of Pedda Karma in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur district on Saturday, a Naxalite camp was busted and a significant amount of explosive materials, medicines, Maoist literature and uniforms were found.
“A Naxalite camp busted after an exchange of fire in the forests of Pedda Karma in Bijapur district. A huge quantity of explosive materials, medicines, Maoist literature, uniforms and other material were recovered from the camp. Search is going on in the surrounding area by DRG, Bastar Fighters, CRPF & CoBRA,” the police said.
Previously on Wednesday, in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, a Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) constable lost his life, and another sustained minor injuries in an incident involving an improvised explosive device (IED) blast and gunfire by Naxalites, as per the police.
On Wednesday morning at around 11 am, Naxalites targeted the Aamdai Ghati iron ore mine in the Chhotedongar police station area of Narayanpur. They initiated an IED blast and gunfire. In response, security forces retaliated.
